After having completed the first day of #GivingTuesday 2018, PayPal reveals that approximately 98 million dollars have been raised thanks to donations from more than 1 million PayPal customers from 180 different markets, assuming an increase in donations of 51% year after year.
PayPal , collaborating entity of the global initiative #GivingTuesday for the seventh consecutive year at a global level and fourth year in Spain, has experienced an increase in donations year after year, reaching the figure of 200 million dollars since it decided to join this movement in 2012 . In this sense, in 2015 PayPal achieved a Guinness World Record by collecting more than 45 million dollars, the highest amount collected for charitable purposes in 24 hours. Last year, this figure was again overcome after raising 64 million dollars, thanks to the 715,000 people who contributed with different donations.
The initiative, which runs until December 31, aims to maximize donations for organizations such as Acción contra el Hambre, ACNUR and Médicos sin Fronteras.
